A man who filed an ethics complaint over Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp’s frequent use of state planes has lodged another one against the former staffer in Gov. Charlie Crist’s office who helped dole out $500,000 in state funds to a sports medicine clinic for a “space tourist” program, then left to take a $150,000 job running the program.
Clearwater resident David Plyer filed the complaint last week with the Florida Commission on Ethics alleging Brice Harris of Pensacola broke the state’s “revolving door” ethics law when he helped set up the program with Space Florida as Crist’s space coordinator, and than took the job last year.
The state’s Inspector General found there was enough evidence that Harris broke the law to refer the case to the ethics commission. However, Crist declined to do so after Harris resigned from his position at the Andrews Institute.
